On August 12th, Consul General Zhao Xiuzhen together with representative of the Davao City Government, visited Catigan National High School and had friendly exchanges with school representatives and Barangay captain where the school is located.

The main purpose of this visit was to inspect the progress of the construction of 6 classrooms, a project funded by the Chinese Consulate General and carried out by the Davao City Government. Consul General Zhao Xiuzhen noted that this aid reflects the importance both sides attach to the education of the younger generation and further strengthens the grassroots foundation of friendship between the two sides. While on site, Consul General Zhao Xiuzhen specifically emphasized the need to place high priority on construction quality to ensure a safe and comfortable learning environment for teachers and students.
