On May 20, Consul General Zhao Xiuzhen attended the ceremonial turn-over of wheelchairs for persons with disabilities to the city of Davao and delivered a speech. Sebastian Duterte, Mayor of Davao City, city councilors and representatives of relevant departments were present at the event.

In her remarks, Consul General Zhao Xiuzhen said that the donated wheelchairs embody the care, respect, and friendship of the Chinese people for the elderly and persons with disabilities in Davao City. She expressed the hope that the people of China and the Philippines will care for one another, move forward hand in hand, and jointly build a brighter future.

Sebastian thanked the Chinese Consulate General for its longstanding charitable assistance to Davao City. He said that the city stands ready to further deepen friendly exchanges and practical cooperation with the Consulate General and jointly promote continued positive development.
