According to recent data released by the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) through the Board of Investments (BOI), the country's manufacturing sector grew by 4.9% year-on-year in May 2025, marking the highest growth rate in nearly 10 months. The expansion was primarily driven by the food products subsector (up 15.7%) and the transport equipment manufacturing sector (up 13.5%).
The BOI stated that manufacturing growth supports job creation, noting that it had approved Php15.02 billion worth of manufacturing projects in the first half of 2025, which are expected to generate over 5,000 new jobs.
