On November 15, Consul General Zhao Xiuzhen paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Macario D. Gonzagan, the Regional Executive Director of Region 11 of the Department of Agriculture of the Philippines. 

Consul General Zhao commented that the Davao region is rich in agricultural resources, and China and the Philippines have achieved fruitful cooperation in many fields such as agricultural trade, breeding and agricultural science and technology. Particularly, since the export of Davao durian to China was approved in 2023, it has greatly promoted the development of regional durian industry and increased the well-being of the majority of small and medium-sized fruit farmers.

She highlighted that China International Import Expo (CIIE) has demonstrated to the Philippines China's huge opened-up market and broad prospects for future cooperation between the two countries.

Mr. Gonzagan expressed that his office is willing to work with the Chinese side to strengthen communication and exchanges, and jointly build bridges of cooperation to deepen agricultural cooperation between the two countries.
