Boundless Opportunities for China and the Philippines Cooperation
2022-06-25 07:53

On June 24, Consul General Li Lin joined the 6th General Membership Meeting of the Davao Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. as one of the panel speakers at the Royal Mandaya Hotel Davao this afternoon.

Bridging the theme of the meeting “Boundless Opportunities Through Foreign Linkages”, Consul General Li Lin shared that bilateral relationship between China and the Philippines had witnessed continuous growth in recent years under the framework of comprehensive, strategic, cooperative relation established during President Xi Jinping's state visit to the Philippines in 2018. Since its inauguration, the Chinese Consulate General in Davao had been promoting people to people and cultural exchanges as well as trade and investment between China and Mindanao. Pioneering cooperation projects in the growing ties between the two countries were the synergy of China’s Belt and Road Initiative and the Philippines’ Build, Build, Build Program and the commencement of the Stay Strong Together Initiative of the Consulate General. The Stay Strong Together Initiative was a collective undertaking between the Chinese Consulate General and Local Government Units in Mindanao to jointly fight the pandemic with one hand and to build economic recovery with the other. Moreover, Consul General Li mentioned the phone conversation between President Xi Jinping and President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr. last May, during which President Xi urged for both countries to carry forward the friendship and stay true to their original aspiration. President-elect Marcos also said that the Philippines would shift to a higher gear to further develop China-Philippines bilateral relations.

We are optimistic to see boundless opportunities for China and the Philippines cooperation.
