Chinese Consulate General Donated School Bags to Davao's Students

On May 5, Consul General Li Lin and Acting Mayor Sebastian Duterte jointly turned over a donation of 2,000 school bags with candy sweets inside to local student beneficiaries in a ceremony at Davao's People’s Park. 


In his message, Consul General Li Lin said China and the Philippines were not only close neighbors, but also family members during thick and thin. He emphasized that China-Philippines relationship had significantly enhanced during the past six years, and led to substantial cooperative projects which had brought real benefits to the two peoples. With the continuous joint efforts of the Consulate General, Davao City Government, Dabawenyos, and other relevant parties, all had been standing side by side and stayed strong together in last two years fighting the pandemic. He further said the Consulate General and the Davao City Government jointly worked out a plan to give out schoolbags to 2,000 Dabawenyo students in order to assist and celebrate their return to face to face schooling. 

Acting Mayor Sebastian Duterte expressed his sincerest gratitude to the generosity of the Consulate General. He also thanked China and the Chinese people for being a consistent partner of Davao City in promoting the welfare of the Dabawenyos, even before President Duterte became president. He further acknowledged the valuable contribution of the Consulate General in sustaining Davao City’s growth and development.
